Vanda Orchids

Vanda Orchids derive from a Sanskrit naming convention or origin, or so people believe.

The Vanda genus seems to currenty have about 90 species of plants. They have subtle variations and differences that make them unique. Here is a published list, and maybe there are others, but we need to start somewhere. Are these the plants you are going to find at the local store or online seller? Maybe, but probably not in many cases. The folllowing table lists the Vanda species. Below this table we will have another that can link to those hybrids that might be primarily based on Vanda.

Vanda Orchids: The learning center

This table lists plants that seem aligned with Vanda and acknowledges that we do not have a definitive assignment of species. These are placeholder entries as we gather more information and refine our opinion of the plant in question. We cannot rule out that this is a hybrid. I dont think it matters very much if we have a hybrid unless it effects their ability to grow in a healthy way.
