At USPlantito.com we are focused on our experiences in the Grandeur Gardens and around the Philippines. We like to travel, but mostly live each day with the plants and gardening. In time we will get more information posted here telling you our story or discussing what we are learning. I have found the Philippines to be a great place to learn about thiings that I just didn’t experience in North-eastern USA. We have some primary sections of the website to focus on Adenium, Bonsai, Orchids and other plants we are keeping here. The next sections are primarily blogging segments to talk about general topics, the Philippines, or our travel experiences. I hope some of this content will be informative or helpful to you.

Bringing ideas and information to the web
I currently keep a Facebook page as well as YouTube. They have served different purposes in the past.
I started the YouTube page when an earthquake hit in the northern parts of Cebu island, Philippines. It was my first time with GoFundMe page but it was so hard to get traction without a YouTube page. GoFundme only accepts videos from a YouTube page, so I needed both in order to share videos to GoFundMe. I will integrate the sites with meaningful content over time, but the earthquake is past and the efforts are widely satisfied by government teams here in the Philippines. Our emergency action team isnt really needed now. Let’s hope it wont be needed again in the future.
I hope you will browse our pages, blogs, and galleries concerning gardening here in the Philippines or our travel fun. Maybe there is something that helps you, or answers a question you might have. If you already have questions, go over to our Facebook or Instagram pages open for dialog. I think that use of this blogging platform will grow over time.
We just want to be sure to keep USPlantito.com free from spammers and bad actors to the best of our ability. Some intersting features exist in this software so hopefully it wont take me too long to learn how to apply then here.
- New Adenium keeperYes, I am a fairly new adenium keeper. I have many plants in the garden now. As with many plant things I got too many plants because I wanted the different varieties and colors, and well, I just didn’t understand what I was getting myself into. The first thing I chased was the different colors… Read more: New Adenium keeper
- Not SnowbushNot Snowbush. That is my opinion for now. I ordered this and it was supposed to be a Snowbush, or Breynia disticha. I will post some pictures of the plant and some others to help in its identification. Next, here is a picture of this UI plant next to the other plant I got within… Read more: Not Snowbush

- Sunlight, Water and Your BonsaiSunlight is a major factor in the health of your bonsai. I get a lot of different answers when considering the amount of sunshine my trees need. It is common for people to consider the light/sunshine that a bonsai requires, but I try to be more specific regarding my placement of a pot and tree.… Read more: Sunlight, Water and Your Bonsai
- Substrate Considerations Part 1What substrate do you use? I think this is one of the most common questions that keeps coming up on the Bonsai groups. Even if these words aren’t part of the question if often comes down as a factor when considering if you are overwatering or underwatering etc. I am not sure the question also… Read more: Substrate Considerations Part 1
- Staining Cement Bonsai PotsI guess they don’t have to be Bonsai pots as anything can be planted in the pots afterwards. One thing I tried to read about before begining this is would the final stained pot leach bad chemicals into the plants, and the answer is NO. That was good news. I did a bit of research… Read more: Staining Cement Bonsai Pots
- Buwakan ni AlejandraAlejandra, that is the name found on Google maps. This is a garden complex west of Cebu City and I think it was worth the trip. It does take time to get there as the road is winding and mountainous. It is also a pleasant drive with nice mountain scenes and nature at its finest.… Read more: Buwakan ni Alejandra
- Philippine languagesPhilippine languages are many and varied. I dont even wish to get into the diversity of language or dialects to be honest. Let’s just agree that the language you may need to be good in, may not be Tagalog. I’m living in the central VIsayas region and more specifically on the island of Cebu. Here… Read more: Philippine languages
- Adenium PropagationAdenium propagation is not something I have really understood or tried before. I did get some seeds when I ordered some Obesum plants and so I tried to get them to grow. They did, but what are they? When trying to get seeds from your mature plants, what will be the outcome? I don’t mean… Read more: Adenium Propagation
