Our travel experiences have been good so far. We went to a couple of places around the Philippines but most of our time has been occupied with the construction of our home and garden.
We did get away, and took our first intenational trip recently. We went to Taiwan. This was my first trip in Asia, outside of the Philippines and into a culture I knew very little about. Trip preparation eased my mind and just having the attitude that doing my best and being kind would generally take care of most things. The are so many resources on the internet about places. For me I like to try the destination Tourism site. Of course there are so many travel guides and other resources to plan your trip.
That trip was enjoyable so more international travel is in our future. Where are we going? Well SIngapore seems our next step, then maybe Japan or even South Korea.
US travel?
Yes, I really want to go to the USA again to see family, and to introduce my bride to the country that inspired so much in me over the years. As of today her Visa request was denied by the US Embassy in Manila. They dont really tell you why, they just say NO. I am an American and can’t travel to the US as a tourist wih her. Not really proud of the appearance that projects to people. Hopefully with some more trips to other places we can demonstrate that we are just tourists and not planning to overstay. Maybe that isn’t the reason they said NO, just have to guess.
Travel Europe?
I would also really like to get back to Europe. I lived there for almost 13 years most of them in Germany and I have heard the country has changed so much. I hope not too much, I love Germany in the 80’s and 90’s.
Fears about these foreign places and cultures can be real, but according to a nice shoe company, “Just Do It!”
Maybe we will see you out there somewhere.
